In a letter to the board, Matos said a 67-year-old man is currently registered to vote at 150 Dora Street, the 700-square-foot home where Vargas claims he has lived for more than 20 years.

South Street Landing developer opposes 46-story tower plan

PROVIDENCE, R.I. The Boston-based developer who spearheaded the South Street Landing project and is also building a hotel downtown is urging a City Council panel to vote down a request for a zoning change from another developer seeking to construct the state's tallest building along Dyer Street on the former I-195 land. In a letter submitted to the Council Ordinance Committee Tuesday, Dick Galvin, the president and CEO of CV Properties, said the council should not "change the rules in the middle of the game" by allowing a 46-story residential tower to be built on land that currently has a maximum height requirement of 130 feet.

Two suspects to be arraigned for 2016 murder

PROVIDENCE, R.I. Two men in their 20's were arraigned Wednesday for the March 2016 stabbing death of an elderly Woonsocket woman. Tyler Grenon, 23, and Matthew Dusseault, 20, have been charged for the murder of Constance Gauthier, 81. Grenon is also charged with conspiracy.
