A man with a California address and multiple aliases has been charged in connection with a robbery last month that occurred after the victim was lured away from his job in Fredericksburg, court records state. Terrell Murphy, 52, whose listed address is in Beverly Hills, Calif., is charged with offenses that include abduction with the intent to extort money, robbery and conspiracy.

Man who injured himself while fleeing from police gets two years in the city

A man who seriously injured himself last year when he crashed his motorcycle into a car while trying to elude a Fredericksburg police officer was ordered Tuesday to serve two years in prison. Fred Amos Swick, 37, of Spotsylvania County was sentenced in Fredericksburg Circuit Court to a total of eight years, with six years suspended.
