Two women have pleaded not guilty to running over a gas station clerk during a robbery in January at Kum & Go. Cassandra Ramos-Salazar, 21, of Springdale and Gisselle Rivera, 17, of Fayetteville are each charged with aggravated robbery, first-degree battery and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident - all felonies.

Schools will display 'In God we trust'

Hundreds of posters proclaiming the national motto "In God we trust" have been distributed and soon will be on display in some of Northwest Arkansas' public schools. Act 911 of last year's legislative session requires the state's public schools to display durable posters featuring the motto, as well as the U.S. and Arkansas state flags, if the posters are donated.

Springdale Man Gets 22 Years For Distributing Meth In NWA

A Springdale man was sentenced Thursday to more than 20 years in federal prison followed by five years of supervised release for distributing methamphetamine in Northwest Arkansas. Allen Kentroy Stevens, 38, pleaded guilty last fall in U.S. District Court to one count of distribution of more than 50 grams of meth and one count of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, according to the U.S. attorney's office.

Rep. Jeff Williams, R-Springdale, seeks a second term. Williams is unopposed in the May 22 GOP primary but faces Democratic candidate Megan Cardwell Godfrey in the Nov. 6 general election.

A proposal to restrict adoptions of the children of Marshall Islanders ran into constitutional law concerns and won't be considered during the current legislative session, its backing legislator said Wednesday. Rep. Jeff Williams, R-Springdale, said he will bring a substantially revised version before the regular session in January.

Goshen voters will decide May 22 whether to approve a one percent sales tax with proceeds going t meet the city's needs, officials said. The proposed, 1 percent sales and use tax for Goshen would be levied and collected on gross receipts, gross proceeds or sales price for each single transaction.

The restaurant got its start on Spring Street, in the space currently home to Rolando's, before moving up to Dickson Street in 2013 to be closer to the UA after a couple chain burrito restaurants moved in. Special agent Robert Cessario had the hard drive of the computer used in investigating the Woods case wiped after being ordered to turn it over for investigation.

Bypass work shuts 2 sections of trail

Construction of the U.S. 412 bypass will require sections of the Razorback Regional Greenway to be closed in Springdale and Lowell through March 16. Crews will be restoring the trail to its pre-construction location, which requires some closures, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation officials. The closed sections are: Trail traffic proceeding through work zones along active roadways should walk through with caution and be aware of vehicle, trail and construction traffic.
