Rogers is a city located in northwestern Arkansas. The city was named in honor of Captain Charles Warrington Rogers who was vice president and general manager of the St. Louis-San Francisco Railroad, also known as the Frisco Railroad. When the Frisco Railroad arrived in 1881 the town was established, naming itself after Captain Rogers. The city was the site of the first Wal-Mart, the world's largest retailer. Missouri Pair Denies February Carjacking In Rogers

Donald Yost, 41, of Wentworth, Mo., and Nichole Shannon, 29, of Joplin, Mo., are both charged in Benton County Circuit Court with felony aggravated robbery and theft of property. Yost, who prosecutors noted has four prior felony convictions, also pleaded not guilty to possession of a firearm by certain persons and fleeing by vehicle with extreme indifference.

Section of 412 Bypass completed, opens soon

State and local officials celebrated today completion of the first section of the U.S. 412 Northern Bypass almost a year ahead of schedule. The 4.5-mile stretch between Interstate 49 and Arkansas 112 will open for traffic when the barricades are removed April 30. The bypass is intended to relieve congestion through Springdale on West Sunset Avenue, South Thompson Street and West Robinson Avenue.
