Poway is located in southern California in San Diego County. It was incorporated in 1980. The city is named after the Poway Creek which runs through the city. Information sought in 1999 Poway homicide

The San Diego County Sheriff's Department's Homicide Detail is looking for information about the unsolved 1999 murder of Teresa Gomez Madrigal in Poway. The body of 33-year-old Madrigal, from Riverside, was discovered on Feb. 24, 1999 was found near the entrance to Lake Poway, according to a press release from the San Diego County Crime Stoppers.

Affordable housing fees likely to increase in Poway

Expect to see a significant increase in what the city charges developers who would rather pay a fee instead of including affordable housing units in their for-sale and rental residential projects. City Council members Tuesday night gave an enthusiastic endorsement to a $35 million mixed-use development project on Poway Road, but sent a second proposal back for revisions.
