Poway is located in southern California in San Diego County. It was incorporated in 1980. The city is named after the Poway Creek which runs through the city. Artifacts including arrow heads, spear points, mutates, grinding stones and pottery have been found along the riverbed of the Poway Creek. Man stabbed to death in Poway was father, 7-Eleven manager

A 29-year-old man who was stabbed to death in Poway was identified as Zubayr Phahez, a sheriff's official said Tuesday. Deputies found Phahez wounded inside his car near the 7-Eleven convenience store on Pomerado Road about 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
