The Providence Journal reports Pawtucket Mayor Donald Grebien was driving from a birthday party at a local brewery Saturday night when his vehicle collided with another car at an intersection. His wife was a passenger and suffered a concussion.

Safe Stations program receives $1,000 donation

The Providence Fire Department received a $1,000 donation Wednesday, which will be used to help combat the opioid epidemic. Above the Noise Foundation, a national organization that helps addicts achieve recovery, made the donation to help support the city's Safe Stations program.

North Smithfield Police Officer suffers broken wrist while apprehending fleeing suspect

North Smithfield Police said they received calls from residents on Pound Hill Road around 8:45 p.m. Saturday stating that there was a suspicious vehicle operating up and down the roadway and entering in and out of driveways. Officers were able to locate the correct name of the suspect, identified as Anthony Wilding, of Pawtucket, and a wanted check yielded three active warrants for his arrest.
